Farrow Parkway median construction to begin Wednesday in Myrtle Beach,SC
Construction that was delayed by rain last week will begin on Wednesday on Farrow Parkway near the intersection of U.S. 17 Bypass on a concrete median.
Construction was expected to begin March 17 allowing some preparatory work to be done during the days, before beginning work Wednesday, said Horry County spokeswoman Lisa Bourcier.
There already were limited lane closures on Monday along Farrow Parkway from the bypass to Crow Lane.
Construction is expected to last three days and will be done during the day, weather permitting, Bourcier said.
Once construction is complete, those who use the Temperance Connector only will be able to turn right onto Farrow.
“It will be safer,” Bourcier said. “They’ll have to go up to Crow [Lane] and turn around.”
Similar lane closures and construction are expected in the near future for S.C. 707, which is on the opposite side of the newly constructed overpass at the back gate.
